our Story
Hi, I’m Stephanie, the heart behind The K9 Hangout!
My journey started long before this business — with a deep love for dogs and years spent volunteering and fostering for local rescues. Over time, I saw firsthand how much dogs thrive when they’re understood, guided, and treated with patience.
After working in multiple boarding and daycare facilities, I realized there was a major gap in the industry: while many offered “care,” few truly specialized in dogs with unique needs — the big breeds, the anxious pups, the seniors, and those who needed a little extra structure.
That’s why I created The K9 Hangout: a safe, home-based environment where dogs can not only feel loved and comfortable but also learn, grow, and become more confident through structured play and positive training.

Our Mission
To provide dogs with a place where they can feel safe, be understood, and build confidence — whether through structured play, restful boarding, or positive training.
We’re here to help owners too, by teaching them how to communicate better, build trust, and enjoy life with their dogs to the fullest.

Meet MY Pack

Nala
Nala was my first dog and has been with me since she was just 8 weeks old. Adopted from a breeder, she’s full of personality and has taught me patience, consistency, and so much about canine behavior.

Harley
Harley joined us not long after Nala. He was abandoned at the training facility where Nala was doing her board and train, and once the two bonded, I couldn’t leave him behind. Harley has faced major medical challenges, including surgery and cancer treatment, but his strength and sweet nature inspire me every day.

Bailey
Bailey, my first “foster fail,” came all the way from Korea. What started as a temporary foster turned into forever the moment I met her — she instantly fit right in and completed our little pack.
Together, they’ve each shaped the way I care for dogs today — with patience, compassion, and an understanding that every pup has their own story and deserves to feel safe, loved, and at home.
